Application of GIS and RS in real time crop monitoring and yield forecasting: a case study of cotton fields in low and high productive farmlands

Badland reclamation and low productive farmlands always have been one of the most detrimental effects on national economy, typically in agricultural sector Uzbekistan. Nonetheless, such kind lands has used extensively for major crops like cotton winter wheat. However, it is difficult to assessing real productivity them. Advanced technologies as GIS RS are vital tool geospatially analysing making decisions this type fields. This research was carried out real-time crop monitoring yield forecasting case (3.5 ha) high (8.3 areas Jarkurgan district (Surkhandarya region, Uzbekistan) based geospatial analyses multi-temporal satellite images, condition groundwater, soil salinity, ground truth data. For vegetation phenology its harvest, False Colour, NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) SI (Salinity were by using 6 temporal windows Sentinel 2 from April through August 2019. Besides, groundwater data which obtained observation wells these located massives consists both fields analysed IDW (Inverse Distance Weighting) interpolation algorithm method determine groundwater’s effect development yield.
